Rainmeter
Rainmeter is an application for Windows Operating Systems that can monitor the statistics about your computer such as current processing power, RAM, hard-drive space, and other things through plug-ins. Rainmeter is free for download from Google Code, where the project is located.

Rainmeter Skins
Rainmeter treats each skin as its own floating module (or window). Each skin is independant of the others, and doesn't appear on the taskbar. Instead they sit around, and you can move them around and change the layer they sit on, such as float above all windows or become part of your desktop.
Skins can easily be downloaded and installed into Rainmeter, allowing for interesting and unique setups.
